As someone who has a loved one with mental illness, I came to realize how much our relationships, careers, families, and overall wellness can be affected by our mental health. Trauma, past and current, can cause us emotional suffering and distress. This understanding led me to eight years of providing services in community mental health including therapy and crisis interventions for adults, families, and youth.

My Story

Providing a safe and supportive space, along with empathy and compassion, is essential in building trust with my clients. I believe in working from a client centered, trauma informed lens to help provide you with a pathway toward healing and ways to cope with, and reduce, your emotional suffering and distress. I believe in living as our authentic selves and come with openness to all faiths and cultural backgrounds, and I welcome the LGBTQ+ community. Let’s get started on working on your healing journey together.

Many of us are dealing with difficult life challenges and past or current traumas that affect our emotions and behaviors. Trauma can have significant impacts on our mental health that can result in anxiety, PTSD, and/or depression. We can find our relationships, work life, and our overall daily living affected by emotional suffering and distress. I believe in working from a client centered, trauma informed lens to help provide you with a pathway toward healing and ways to cope with, and reduce, your emotional suffering and distress.

Along with an integrated therapeutic approach, I will utilize empathy and compassion to create a strong therapeutic alliance with you. I believe that one size does not fit all and will work with you to find the best approach that is helpful and supportive to you. I have found Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and solution focused therapies are helpful for many. Uncovering how our past affects us in the here and now can also give us the insight we need to find recovery from our trauma and repair our ability to function in healthy relationships with family, partners, and friends.

With eight years of experience working in community mental health, I have provided a variety of services including therapy for individuals, couples, and adult family dynamics. I have also provided crisis intervention for families, youth, and adults. I’ve had the additional privilege of working with a diverse array of populations. I believe in living as our authentic selves and come with openness to all faiths and cultural backgrounds, and I welcome the LGBTQ+ community. Let’s work together to uncover your pathway to healing.
